My Aquarium

After alot of research, I'm ready to start a new Reef Aquarium.
I decided to go with a 75 gallon tank, and to build my own aquarium stand.

STEP 1 - Build the stand...
The stand will measuse 4'W * 20"D * 35"H

The basic frame is made of 3/4" Maple veneer plywood, doubled up on the sides,
over a base made up of 2x4's, and reinforced width 2x4's on the top.

The face frame is made of 3/4" Maple, joined with pocket screws.

An opening cut on top for the Aquarium built in overflow.

Build the drawers out of Pine (The left one is a bit shorter to accomodate the overflow).
Drawer fronts will be added latter.

After 5 coats (only 2 on the inside) of Minwax Oil Stain (Colonial Maple).

Got some 1 1/4" rope moldings for the sides, and used the router to
make some side/face moldings, and a base molding.
The part of the 2x4 base that shows thru, was painted black.

Doors, Drawer Fronts, and Hardware.
